Welcome to the Glasgow Branch
of the BCSS
In response to the Government's latest advice regarding COVID-19, the committee of Glasgow Branch has taken the decision to cancel ALL meetings, Branch events and activities until September. This will include our Branch show and display on 6 and 7 June and various displays and plant sales taking place at Glasgow Botanic Gardens' Kibble Palace through the summer. Planned greenhouse visits to member’s collections will also be cancelled. Our syllabus of meetings normally runs from September until the following June, so it is hoped that the situation has improved for the start of our new syllabus on Thursday 3 September 2020. However, we shall continue to follow government advice and make decisions about future events according to official guidelines.
Our Branch is one of the largest Branches of the BCSS in the UK. Meetings are usually held on the first Thursday of each month from September to June at 7.30pm in the Hopkirk Building, Glasgow Botanic Gardens.
See our contact page for further details of how to find us. Please note that the entry gate on Queen Margaret Drive is open from 7.00pm to 7.25pm only.
We have a varied programme of talks arranged throughout the year, and each meeting includes the plant of the month, a chance for our members to show off their favourite plants.
For details go to our meetings page.
In addition we have our annual Branch Show at the Kibble Palace at the beginning of June, and we organise a number of displays with sales plants each year.
See our displays page for more details.
